  • Caitlin Waugh discusses Vincent Van Gogh's life history and experiences as an analogy for how our pain and suffering does not have to equal the feeling of failure in purpose or quality of life. Life often brings unexpected joy through failure, and our failing experiences can have an important impact on those around us. Caitlin is a senior at Lake Travis High School who is passionate about psychology and art. Since the beginning of TEDxLakeTravisHigh in 2014, she has enjoyed being a part of the graphic design team. Though currently her only job consists of surviving the last few weeks of high school, she plans on being a psychologist in the future. Next year she will go to Clark University to follow this dream. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
