  • Making a difference to the society does not require you to give up your day job, and do it all 24 hours of the day. All you need to do is to ask yourself - what can I do? It is these questions that Vijay Chadda, CEO of Bharti Foundation asked himself as he took his first steps towards improving the education in India. In this video, he shares stories of the revolution that education has brought about in the remote, far-flung areas of India. The quality of education should not be the birth right of a privileged few, and the will to change can improve things drastically. The problems in India education might be many, but there are none that can't be solved with responsible involvement from the citizens of the country. Under Vijay Chadda's leadership, the Satya Bharti School Program Bharti Foundation provides free quality education to over 45,000 children from marginalized communities in rural areas, through its 254 schools across six Indian states Vijay Chadda has 45+ years of professional experience with 20 years, serving in the Indian Army. He has headed leading corporates however his innate desire to give back to society meaningfully, drew him from the corporate world to the Foundation. Under his leadership, the Satya Bharti School Program Bharti Foundation, provides free quality education to over 45,000 children from marginalized communities in rural areas, through its 254 schools across six Indian states. His army background inspired many processes and events to inculcate a sense of patriotism and integrity within the school program. He is part of various National Committees in the area of Education, Skill Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and on the Advisory Committee of leading schools and educational institutions This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
