  • Ruckus, a St. Bernard, was left with a face full of sharp quills after a porcupine attack. The dog was rushed to Lollypop Farm Humane Society of Greater Rochester in New York, where a team removed the quills. Ruckus was given up for adoption by his family because it had become too expensive to care for him. He has since been adopted by another couple.'s Leigh Scheps ( has more.

Porcupines don't attack, they just defend themselves

I love dogs, and this is the saddest thing that has happened to a beautiful dog like that. This video is too sad for me, because I have my own dog and if that dog happened to my dog, I would first into tears.

Omg that looks sooo painful! Especially seeing the quills coming through into his mouth as well. I’m glad he’s got a new, loving home... That’s far away from porcupines lol.

I couldn't give my dog up ever! If I couldn't continue to afford the removal of porcupine quills I'd find a solution such as being outside with him while he potties. At least he found a new home, for that I am very grateful.

I'm glad Rukus is OK. This happened to my cousin's dog. My cousin couldn't afford it either but lucky he got help from somebody.🐾🐕🐶 I hope Rukus got a lot of treats after this encounter with Mr. Prickley.

Damn i feel pretty sorry for those owners who gave him up. My dad gave up his dog when he was a kid because his family couldn’t afford to keep it.

Dudes I'm glad he found another home. If they don't have the "money" to get the quills out, the also don't have the patience and time either. If this happened to my dog and I didn't have enough money, I would go with it knowing that one day he might be the only thing that I've got left.

Omg! I saw this dog at Lollypop farm!! My mom saw the whole story! We even talked to the owners, they have a little dog. He was very sick, and he is only 2 years old!
